Summer

Wow, I can't believe it is already August. While last summer seemed to last about 2 years, this one has gone by quickly. I feel much more settled here than I did last year. Last summer was pretty painful. I was miserable, homesick and lonely. And now, while I still miss my family, at least I have friends and activities to keep me occupied. And I am looking forward to fall and all that it brings - new activities, birthdays, changing leaves, pumpkins, Halloween, all my favorite things!

Hmmmmm, what's new here...... Well, I have decided to try and pursue my photography a bit and see where that leads. Someone very wise recently broke it to me that I have more talent than I give myself credit for and that I need to believe in myself and if I do I can accomplish a lot more than I think I can. So, as tough as it is to put myself out there, I am going to and see where it takes me. I did a session for a friend earlier this week and despite the thunder storm, I think it turned out quite well. Just have to finish editing the photos and get them back to her now. She has two incredibly cute and photogenic kids, so that made my job much easier.

In other news, I can hardly wait for October. I am going to Saskatoon for two nights to go to this fabulous all day crop (9am to midnight). There are workshops too which I am really looking forward to. This is the info about the crop and classes.

I also had a pretty exciting phone call a few weeks ago - from Jackie Ludlage from Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine. She phoned to tell me that I won a trivia contest I had entered on their website and that I won $500 worth of scrapbooking stuff. ($100 from 5 companies -Rose Moka, Clip It Up, Melissa Frances, Stix 2, and Best Craft Organizers). I cannot wait for the box to arrive - I have been stalking the post office which is getting a bit embarassing. I hope it arrives soon!

This page is one I did a year or so ago, but is still one of my favorite pages, simply because of the photo and the journalling. Leica, if you read this, this is the one I was talking about.
